Made by fans, for fans

Schmeckles is a cryptocurrency project on the XRP Ledger made by Rick and Morty fans, for Rick and Morty fans — run since November 2021 by a registered Australian company, with its art, games and giveaways built around one very serious idea:

“Our mission is to remind the world that life is to be lived. That while being serious is essential at times, it is not essential all the time… We advocate for mental wellness and happiness.”

Fair from day one

No ICO. Half the supply was airdropped to the community in 2021–2022, another quarter given out through competitions and soft staking. Voluntary audits by XRPL Assurance Services and Gilbert + Tobin.

Democracy, on-chain

Big calls go to a vote where 1 Schmeckle = 1 vote, signed with Xaman and counted on the ledger. The community literally voted the next NFT batch into existence (Zelda parody won, 35.11%).

And the burn?

Nearly half of everything ever minted is already gone — see it fall in real time on the burn page.

The big moments

Four years of setting the supply on fire, one event at a time.

27 Nov 2021 Launch day

1,000,000 Schmeckles minted, the issuer blackholed, and half of everything airdropped straight to the fans over the following year.

2022 The art competitions begin

Eight community competitions and counting — Pencil & Paper to Darkness — with winning art minted as NFTs and one winner drawn into the Invasion itself.

2023 The Burn Event

3,194.68 Schmeckles burned by 86 wallets in one competition, ranked in tiers from Common to Artefact.

Jan 2024 The VS YOU! Special Event

The single biggest day of fire in project history: 65,500 Schmeckles burned as the 520-card collection found its decks.

Apr 2024 Schmeckles in Space

300 NFTs airdropped free to the top-100 holders — loyalty, rewarded from orbit.

27 Nov 2025 gottaBurn — the 4th birthday

The community raised 2,222, the Schmeckles Godfather and JamesRay matched it: 4,444 burned for the birthday, 26 contributor wallets on the public roll of honour.

Now The gaming era

The arcade, VS YOU! online with PVP, and the Invasion's future — gaming campaigns are the project's next big pillar, and entry fees burn.

Every number above is real — the burns are on the ledger, and the leaderboard has the receipts.

Playing games for the burn

Here's the part that sounds made up: the community plays video games together, gets paid for it, and the money buys Schmeckles off the market and burns them. $3,025 USD has gone through that loop so far.

  1. The stream qualifies. Schmeckles streams on Twitch through StreamElements, who reviewed the channel and judged it worthy of Gaming Campaign sponsorships. Not every streamer gets them.
  2. A game sponsors the community. An established title — usually mobile, sometimes PC — pays the channel to play it and share it. The community piles in and plays together; that's the whole job.
  3. The payment becomes fire. The sponsorship money is converted to XRP, used to buy Schmeckles on the open market, and those Schmeckles are burned. Supply goes down because people had fun.
Heroes of History$266

What one round actually looks like

Campaigns seven and eight — Puzzles and Chaos and Viking Rise — finished together in July 2026. Every step was posted publicly, and the rounding always went the community's way:

  1. $573 USD raised, which landed as $787.67 AUD — a poor exchange rate, so the team topped it up to $805 AUD out of their own pocket.
  2. That bought 499.92 XRP, rounded up to a clean 500 XRP.
  3. 500 XRP bought 883 Schmeckles on the open market, rounded up to 888.
  4. All 888 were sent to the blackholed issuer and destroyed — the burn transaction, on the ledger forever.

Campaigns paused for a few months while things moved behind the scenes — and then Razer acquired StreamElements. One of the biggest creator platforms is now part of Razer, which for a streaming community like this one means gaming campaigns, tools and support should come back stronger. The Schmeckles crew is expecting them to return; when they do, the loop starts again.

When it stops being funny

The silliness exists to make the serious stuff easier to talk about. If you or someone you love is struggling, these services are free, real, and answer — pick your country. In immediate danger, always call your local emergency number first.
